Hyderabad, May 7 (Maxim News) : Kaushik Reddy alleges attack after political tensions escalated over comments exchanged between BRS and BJP leaders in Karimnagar.
The controversy began after BJP leader Bandi Sanjay questioned whether BRS working president K T Rama Rao was ready for drug tests. In response, BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy alleged that Bandi Sanjay was also consuming drugs through tobacco products.
Following the remarks, BJP workers reportedly gathered near the government camp office allotted to Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar, where Kaushik Reddy was present. Tensions increased as protesters allegedly attempted to attack the MLA.
Kaushik Reddy alleges attack amid political tensions
According to reports, some protesters entered the office premises and damaged furniture and a vehicle. Police later intervened to control the situation.
Speaking to the media after the incident, Kaushik Reddy made serious allegations against Bandi Sanjay and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. He claimed both leaders had jointly planned an attack against him.
Kaushik Reddy said he only responded to Bandi Sanjay’s remarks. Moreover, he alleged that he had already warned officials about threats to his safety and possible surveillance on his movements.
The BRS MLA further claimed that BJP workers arrived with sticks, knives, and petrol bombs. He questioned the deteriorating law and order situation in Karimnagar and asked why authorities failed to prevent the violence.
In addition, Kaushik Reddy defended his remarks on KTR and denied provoking anyone. He stated that if anyone proves he intentionally incited violence, he would publicly apologise.
The incident has intensified the political war between BRS and BJP leaders in Telangana. (Maxim News)
