Kavitha to present awards to women who are excelling in their chosen career paths

Hyderabad, Dec.22 (Maxim News): TRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha to present Vysya Limelight awards to distinguished women in the Vysya community for their excellence in their chosen field in a special annual function to be held at JRC Convention Centre in the city on December 24.

Disclosing this in a press note issued in the city today Siva Kumar Emmadi of Vysya Limelight Inc, who instituted the awards to spot and recognize women achievements in the Vysya community said the initiative is part of our community outreach program.

The community is known traditionally as traders who transformed themselves into the most vibrant professionals and entrepreneurs. Considered conservatives, these women broke their glass ceilings and scaled news heights in uncharted waters, Emmadi added.

The 16 women achievers who are trailblazers will be befittingly felicitated by Kavitha. Besides them, three women will be honoured with Excellence Awards too.

The function will be graced by Ganesh Bigala, lone MLA representing the community and other Vysya dignitaries will witness the award presentation.

Some of the women chosen through an elaborate process out of 515 nominations received include Business Woman; IT professional; a successful doctor, entertainer, athlete, educationist, public servant and others. Some of the receipts chosen to honour are ‘firsts’ in their field.

Some women are pioneers, who broke gender barriers and worked hard for their rights and made progress in their area of specialisation.

Though Vysyas constitute 10 per cent of the State population, the community has been contributing thousands of crores by way of taxes to the exchequer.

It is a no-nonsense and peace-loving community that has given to the country many luminaries, distinguished personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Potti Sriramulu, Lakshmi Niwas Mittal, Rosaiah, Grandhi Mallikarjun Rao, Ramesh Gelli, V. V. Lakshminarayana, Pendekanti Venkata Subbaiah and others.

Known traders, Vysyas are not surprisingly dominating the e-commerce space in India too.

The awards are the annual feature, initiated separately for men and women from the community with a sole aim to showcase excellence, spot it and recognise and inspire others.

Several distinguished community leaders, guests, altogether 200 plus invitees will grace the occasion. (Maxim News)
