KCR cautions people against communal forces attempting division in society

Hyderabad, Sept.17 (NSS): Expressing concern over growing the threat of communal forces, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) appealed to the people to be aware and alert of these forces in the State.

The Chief Minister hoisted the national flag at Public Gardens here on Saturday on the occasion of Telangana National Integration Day. Later, he received a general salute from the police personnel.

Speaking on the occasion, KCR said there is a threat to Telangana from religious forces and they are hatching conspiracies to distort history, destroy harmony and pollute the culture of Telangana for the political benefits.

“After a long struggle, Telangana State was achieved. Since then, the new State has been progressing in all fronts and it has become a role model for other States in development. However, the destructive forces are back to create unrest and are distorting even the occasion of September 17 which stands as a symbol of national integrity, to fulfill their selfish political objectives. These opportunists who have nothing to do with the Telangana’s history and development, are trying to distort and pollute the bright history of Telangana with petty politics,” KCR said.

The Chief Minister said the Integration Day celebrations are an extension to India’s 75 years of Independence. The Telangana people’s struggle was invaluable from the monarchy rule and many leaders had sacrificed their lives to liberate the region from the clutches of the monarchy rule. Hyderabad was a separate State till 1956 and against the wishes of Telangana people, the united Andhra Pradesh was formed with Hyderabad. In the combined Andhra Pradesh, the Telangana was neglected in development and people from the region were humiliated everywhere. In 2001, I had again launched the agitation for the separate State of Telangana and finally achieved it in 2014, ” he said.

Stating that the Telangana people had to face many hardships for 58 years due to small negligence of then Telangana leaders, the Chief Minister said the devisive forces are now becoming active in Telangana and they are trying to create rift among the people for political purposes.

“Such situation should not happen again in Telangana and people should counter such divisive forces,” KCR said.

Earlier, he paid floral tributes to people who laid their lives for Telangana State, at Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial in Gun Park. (NSS)
