Hyderabad, Aug.23 (Maxim News): Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao today expressed concern and grief at the demise of Noted Journalist, Author, former MP and former British Commissioner Kuldip Nayar. According to information Nayar (95) breathed his last in a hospital in Delhi on Thursday morning. He is survived by wife Bharthi Nayar and two sons.
In a communiqué here, the chief minister condoled the death of Nayar who served the nation with his writings for Indian society. KCR also noted that studies done by Kuldip Nayar in various issues such as social, political and foreign relations were of much use for the nation. He expressed sympathies to the bereaved family members.
Nayar started as an Urdu reporter, headed UNI a News Agency and rose to become Indian Express Editor, stood for press freedom. He was nominated to Rajya Sabha also received lifetime achievement award.
Born in Sialkot of Pakistan on August 14 in 1923, Kuldip Nayar got his law degree from Lahore and moved do India and settled in Delhi after the partition of the country. He is renowned for his works Beyond the Lines, India after Nehru, Emergency Retold and others. (Maxim News)
