KCR Decides To Name Candidates For Two RS Seats
Hyderabad, March.4 (Maxim News): Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is set to finalize the names of two members for Rajya Sabha out of a long list of contenders.
As poll schedule was announced and a related notification will be released soon, KCR is to take a call soon. With all options in mind, KCR may pick one of the senior leaders and one industrialist, according to sources.
Those seeking berths in Rajya Sabha are former MP from Khammam P Srinivas Reddy, K Kavitha, K Keshav Rao, My Home company chief Jupally Rameshwar Rao and others.
TRS seniors feel that the party boss may send his daughter K Kavitha to the Upper House. After her defeat in Lok Sabha polls at the hands of Dharmapuri Arvind of the BJP, Kavitha is to see her luck of elevation to Rajya Sabha.
It was also said KCR may consider to offer an MLC seat to Kavitha if things go otherwise. After her defeat in LS polls, KCR was now keen on community equations and balancing of castes as well. Based on MLAs’ strength in the State, the TRS can get the two seats easily.
If one seat was given to either Kavitha or P Srinivas Reddy, another may go to either a BC, an SC, or an ST community, the TRS seniors leaders feel.
Two Rajya Sabha seats will be falling vacant on the retirement of KVP Ramachandra Rao of the Congress and G Mohan Rao of the TDP from Telangana. (Maxim News)
