Hyderabad, Sept.6 (Maxim News): Terming the decision of care-taker Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to dissolve the State Assembly as “undemocratic”, the Telangana BJP today alleged that the ruling TRS has once again cheated the people, who had given mandate to rule the State for five years.
Addressing the media at State party office here on Thursday, State BJP president Dr K Laxman said though KCR has worked against the wishes of the people, the BJP was ready to face the advanced elections. Laxman demanded that KCR explain to people what was the necessity to advance the elections about nine month before when people had voted TRS for a full term. KCR had supported simultaneous elections of Lok Sabha and State Assemblies a few days ago, but suddenly took a “U” turn, he said. Taking a dig at KCR, Laxman said now the State people have been liberated from family and dictatorial rule of the TRS party. “This is second liberation for the State as the party already celebrating September 17 as Telangana Liberation Day from the clutches of erstwhile Nizam rule”, he said.
Laxman alleged that the elections were advanced at the behest of MIM party with which the TRS party has nexus. Referring to manifesto of Congress, the BJP chief accused the Congress of making impracticable promises to the people. Why Congress party failed to implement the promises which were mentioned in the latest manifesto during its earlier regime in the State, he questioned.
Alleging that the TRS government has failed to fulfil its promises, including house sites to journalists, he reminded that KCR had said that he will not ask votes if he failed to complete Mission Bhagirath scheme providing drinking water to every household. How can now he (KCR) ask people to vote for his party when he utterly failed to complete this project. Laying of pipe lines under this scheme was not yet completed in several villages and that is the reason why Chief Minister KCR advanced the elections in the State, he said, adding that national BJP president Amit Shah would start election campaign from Mahbubnagar district in the second week.
Floor leader in the dissolved Assembly G Kishan Reddy, former Union minister Bandaru Dattatraya, MLCs Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, NVSS Prabhakar, MLC N Ramchender Rao and other leaders were present. (Maxim News)
