Hyderabad: State Minister for Labour, Employment and Mines and Geology, Dr Gaddam Vivek Venkatswamy, on Monday said the KCR family dispute is not political. Dr Vivek Venkatswamy carried out door to door campaigning in Wards 6, 7, 8 and 10 of Kyathanpalli Municipality. During the campaign, he explained welfare schemes being implemented by the Congress government. He appealed to voters to elect Congress candidates. He said this would ensure overall development of the municipal wards.

Addressing residents, the minister said, “I meet people every day during my morning walks, understand their problems and work responsibly to resolve them immediately. When Balka Suman was an MLA, he never once toured the wards or made any effort to understand people’s issues.” He used this comparison to highlight his approach to public service.

Meanwhile, Dr Vivek Venkatswamy alleged that Balka Suman neglected the Chennur constituency. He said Suman claimed proximity to KCR as his “younger son”. He added that Suman spent most of his time at KCR’s residence. The minister alleged that illegal land dealings and the sand mafia were promoted. He claimed thousands of crores of rupees were amassed. He also said roads and drainage works were taken up only where commissions were involved.

The minister said his own tenure focused on basic infrastructure. He recalled that 3,500 Indiramma houses were provided in the Chennur constituency. He criticised the previous BRS government. He said it failed to allot even a single Double Bedroom house to any poor family.

Reacting further to the KCR family dispute, Dr Vivek Venkatswamy said, “This is not a political dispute. There is an asset-sharing feud between Kavitha, Harish Rao and KTR. It is a quarrel between brother and sister over their shares in the wealth amassed by looting the state. Under the pretext of women’s quota, a share in the assets is being demanded.” He maintained that the issue had no link to public welfare.

Later, he said development works worth ₹2.50 crore were carried out in Amaravadi village despite him not being elected as MLA. He also said several service programmes were run through the Visakha Trust. He stated that the Kaka family always remained committed to public service.
