Hyderabad, Oct.7 (Maxim News): Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today held a review meeting on the ongoing RTC crew strike and came out with a plan of action to put the TSRTC on right track and make profits in future. He has also taken a decision to make use of 50% of private vehicles for the RTC fleet and take tough measures to strengthen the loss-making RTC. RTC MD Sunil Sharma has submitted a report to the Chief Minister on the plan to set right the crisis and to resolve the issue.
In the wake of laborers joining the strike in the districts, the government was taking steps to appoint eligible persons as drivers and conductors. K Chandrashekhar Rao has already said that those who failed to join duties by 6 pm to meet deadline were removed and will not be taken back under any circumstances.
At Pragati Bhavan, K Chandrashekhar Rao called a meeting with the TSRTC officials and directed them to ride over the problem created by RTC strike.
Despite warning of removal from jobs, the RTC unions continued the strike for third day on Monday. With this, K Chandrashekhar Rao held another meeting and took stock of private buses provided as an alternative to the people going for Dasara festival.
Opposition political parties extended their support to the RTC strike as the government took alternative measures. The Chief Minister expressed his displeasure at the staff for the strike.
Meanwhile, the State government rejected the merger demand of the employees and started steps of disciplinary action. The RTC Union leaders were not ready to call off the strike and decided to intensify the agitation. (Maxim News)
