KCR intimidated Munugode voters in Chandur public meeting: Uttam

Hyderabad, October 30: Congress MP & former TPCC President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has accused Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao of intimidating the Munugode voters during a public meeting that he addressed in Chandur on Sunday.

“KCR openly threatened the voters of Munugode of consequences if they vote against TRS. His tone was highly intimidating. By stating that opposition parties will not be seen in Munugode after 3rd November and he will get back control on 4th November, he indirectly threatened the cadre and supporters of Congress and other parties. This is highly intolerable and the Election Commission of India should take note of KCR’s speech,” he said in a media statement.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said it was ridiculous on the part of the Chief Minister to blame the opposition for the lack of development in the Munugode constituency. “Present TRS candidate K. Prabhakar Reddy represented Munugode constituency as MLA from 2014-18. He was punished for lack of performance and people voted for the Congress party in 2018. TRS is in power since 2014 and KCR should be ashamed that his government could not honour the promises that were made with the people of Munugode in the last eight years,” he said.

The Congress MP said that TRS and BJP were trying to distract people from real issues in the name of ‘Operation Lotus’ and ‘Operation Farmhouse’. Everyone knows that both TRS and BJP don’t believe in the politics of ethics and morals. KCR has engineered the defection of 47 MLAs, MPs & MLCs in his first term from 2014-2018. After winning the second term, he again engineered the defection of 12 Congress MLAs. Similarly, BJP has toppled the elected governments in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra and other States, he said.

“It sounds ridiculous when KCR speaks about ethics and morals. In today’s Munugode meeting, KCR introduced four MLAs who “rejected” the BJP’s offer of Rs. 100 crore each for defection against TRS. Interestingly, three out of four MLAs (Pilot Rohith Reddy, Harshvardhan Reddy and Rega Kantha Rao), were elected on a Congress ticket in the 2018 elections. It was KCR who made them defect to TRS along with 9 other Congress MLAs,” Uttam Kumar Reddy said.

He expressed confidence that Congress candidate Palvai Shravanti would win the by-elections with a huge majority. He said the people of Munugode would reject both TRS and BJP for their unethical and immoral politics.
