Hyderabad, May 6 (Maxim News): TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has crossed all limits of decency while targeting Congress party during his press conference at Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the language used by KCR to insult the Congress leaders does not match the stature of a Chief Minister. He said during 30 years of his political career he had not seen any Chief Minister who stooped down to such a low level to target his political opponents. He said it was unfortunate that a person who began his career as a ‘Passport broker’ was calling Congress leaders ‘brokers’. “Would we not call a person a ‘buffoon’ who went on record in Assembly stating that Coronavirus could be treated with a Paracetamol tablet?” he asked.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Chief Minister has imposed salary cut for all employees and even reduced pensioners’ pay by half citing financial problems. However, he said thousands of crores were paid to various contractors in the same month. He alleged that KCR was robbing the Telangana’s exchequer to benefit the Andhra contractors.
He said KCR was no more sensitive to the problems being faced by the people due to the arrogance of power. He said KCR family no more travels by regular flights and they hire chartered flights even for personal tours at the cost of public exchequer.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that CM KCR has shown utter disrespect to the institution of Governor by criticising the representation submitted by Congress party to Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan. He said KCR should be ashamed for wrongly stating that Congress leaders were expecting a higher death toll due to Coroanvirus. He said KCR himself should have read the representation submitted to the Governor wherein Congress questioned less number of tests being conducted on Covid-19 suspects. He said KCR has proudly mentioned that the recovery rate of Coronavirus patients in Telangana was higher. At the same time, KCR should have mentioned the testing rate in Telangana State compared to other States and national average. “KCR gets angry when someone approaches the court or meet the Governor with complaints. This shows his dislike for democratic practices and inclination towards dictatorial form of government,” he said.
The TPCC Chief also accused CM KCR making false claims on Telangana being the only State procuring agricultural produce from the farmers. He said Chattisgarh and other Congress-ruled States not only waived off crop loans of farmers, but purchased the agriculture produce by paying prices above MSP. He challenged KCR to visit Chattisgarh to study the procurement process. He said that the TRS Government neither waived off the promised crop loans nor it procured the agriculture produce from farmers. He asked KCR to clarify as to when his government paid financial assistance to farmers under Rythu Bandhu scheme before the commencement of crop season. He said KCR never honoured his own words and promises throughout his life and career. He said KCR himself claimed in a press conference that Sweet Lime was good for health. However, he said that the State Government was not purchasing the Sweet Lime to help the farmers.
Uttam Kumar Reddy also condemned KCR for the ‘love’ he has shown towards ‘wine’ and ‘wine shops’. He said opening of wine shops was allowed even in Red Zones. He slammed the Chief Minister for not having any clue on the exact number of migrant workers in Telangana State. He said the migrant workers were not provided the promised help and for the same reason they were insisting on returning to their native States.
He said that KCR should not consider Telangana as his ‘jagir’ (personal fiefdom) just because his party has won the last elections.
TPCC Working President Ponnam Prabhakar, AICC Kisan Cell Vice President M. Kodanda Reddy, MLA Jagga Reddy and PCC ex-President V. Hanumantha Rao also spoke during the press conference. TPCC Covid-19 Task Force Chairman Marri Shashidhar Reddy, TPCC Treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy and other leaders were also present. (Maxim News)
