Hyderabad, Sept.7 (Maxim News): TRS President K. Chandrasekhar Rao, after creating a storm by dissolving the Assembly to advance the elections in the state in a bid to retain his firm political hold on Telangana, seemed to be maneuvering to dent the opposition, especially the Congress, through his infamous “Operation Akarsh” to achieve his goal.
As part of this mission, KCR has began to woo prospective senior and influential leaders from the Congress and thus deny his main adversary and “enemy number one”, from fielding strong contestants in the ensuing polls. Apart from himself holding secret parleys with senior Congress leaders, he has also deputed his confidants like IT Minister K T Rama Rao, State Advisor G. Vivek and others in the task to trapping those leaders who have been waiting in the wings for greener pastures.
Accordingly KTR and Vivek called on Suresh Reddy, a senior Congress leader and former Assembly Speaker Suresh Reddy at his residence and held discussions. They succeeded in their efforts to make Suresh Reddy agree to defect to Congress.
As if this is not enough, the already beleaguered Congress seemed to be faced with more defections. Two other Congress leaders, K. Laxma Reddy, popularly known as KLR who earlier represented Medchal constituency, and Prasad, a former minister from Vicarabad, seemed to be in touch with TRS. KCR is learnt to have already held discussions with KLR and he is expected to switch over to the pink party in a day or two.(Maxim News)
