Nagarkurnool, Aug.29 (Maxim News): Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao visited Vattem reservoir in Bijnepally mandal in Nagar Kurnool District on Thursday, as part of inspecting works on Palamuru-Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Project.
After an aerial view, the Chief Minister directed the officials concerned to expedite the works. He desired that since the reservoir was being built with 16.7 tmc capacity, all the three agencies should take up construction works in three shifts and complete it in a week. If necessary, they are permitted to recruit required manpower for the same, he said. The Chief Minister also desired that the revetment works need to be completed before March 2020. He also wanted that the reservoir and pump house works should be taken up and completed simultaneously. The Collector brought to the notice of the Chief Minister that for the purpose of land acquisition and R&R, there was a need for Rs 200 crore. KCR immediately directed CMO Secretary Smitha Sabharwal to release the funds.
Before reaching Vattem reservoir, soon after landing from the helicopter, the Chief Minister met local villagers and received letters and representations from them. The villagers sought immediate release of funds for land acquisition and special funds for development of the village. The Chief Minister assured the villagers that they would be taken care of in all aspects.
Ministers Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, V Srinivas Goud, MP Joginapalli Santosh Kumar, MLAs Marri Janardhan Reddy, Guvvala Balraju, MLC K Damodar Reddy, ZP Chairperson Padmavathi, Collector Sridhar, E-n-C Muralidhar Rao, Megha Krishna Reddy, police officials Ranganath, Shashidhar Reddy accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit.
