Hyderabad, April 15 (Maxim News): A key development has taken place in the phone tapping case which created a sensation in the state. The four police officers arrested in the phone tapping case have withdrawn their bail petition.

While the police have registered a case against the four accused under Section 70 of the IT Act, the Nampally Court has advised them to go to the Session Court as it is a section punishable by more than 10 years.  With this, the bail petition filed in Nampally ACMM court was withdrawn.  The accused will file a new bail petition in the Nampally session court on Tuesday.

Hyderabad Police took the matter seriously as the issue of illegal transportation of cash in police vehicles during the last election came to light during the investigation of the phone tapping case.  It has been decided to register another case in this regard.  Some public representatives may issue notices based on the facts that have come to light in the investigation of this case.  SIT officials have already collected many key pieces of evidence in this illegal tapping case led by former SIB chief T. Prabhakar Rao.

It was concluded that most of the money smuggling took place during the assembly elections held in December 2018, Dubbaka held in 2020, Huzurabad held in October 2021, previous by-elections held in the second week of October 2022 and the general elections held in December last year.  It is known that City Police Commissioner Kothakota Srinivas Reddy has stated that the investigation of the tapping case is going on transparently. He said that all the details will be revealed when the time comes.  He said that the details of giving notices to political leaders will be disclosed soon. (Maxim News)
