Khairatabad gets largest G plus 2 multipurpose function hall

Hyderabad, Jan 23 (Maxim News): A G plus 2 multipurpose function hall, the largest in Khairatabad constituency, was inaugurated at NBT Nagar on Friday. District In charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Greater Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi formally opened the facility.

The multipurpose function hall was constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crore. It is designed to host social, government, women, and student related programmes. The project is expected to benefit poor and middle class families in the area.

State Government Advisor K Kesava Rao, MP Anil Kumar Yadav, MLC Balmur Venkat, Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Shobhan Reddy, GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan, Zonal Commissioner Priyanka, and other officials attended the inauguration.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said constructing such a facility in a prime area of Hyderabad was commendable. He stated that the hall would be useful for weddings, self help group meetings, government events, and student activities. He added that the inauguration on Vasantha Panchami was auspicious.

The minister highlighted welfare schemes such as ration cards, fine rice distribution, free domestic power, free RTC travel for women, and interest free loans.

He said Hyderabad’s development would accelerate under the Chief Minister’s vision. He also appreciated Mayor Vijayalakshmi for completing the project despite hurdles.

Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi said the hall was the result of a decade-long effort. She stated that the government aims to bring 15 lakh women into self help groups across Greater Hyderabad. She added that skill training programmes would help women become financially independent.

MP Anil Kumar Yadav said the hall was specially designed to serve poor and middle class residents. He noted that such a large facility in a basti area was a first in Hyderabad. (Maxim News)
