Khalid Saifullah appointed Vice-Chairman of Congress Data and Technology Department

Hyderabad, October 22: In recognition of his talent and dedication, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge appointed Syed Khalid Saifullah as Vice-Chairman of the Indian National Congress (INC)’s Data and Technology Department.

Khalid Saifullah, a seasoned software professional from Hyderabad, brings over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, with previous roles at top companies like Google, Invesco, Ness, and Dell. His expertise in data analytics and technology has been widely acknowledged. Before joining Congress, Khalid gained significant attention for his contributions to social welfare through applications such as the Missing Voters App, Free Ration App, and Free Oxygen App. His innovative solutions have been featured in major media outlets like CNN, BBC, Foreign Policy, Business Standard, Indian Express, and NDTV, underlining their impact and relevance.

For the Congress party, Khalid developed several key initiatives, including the crowdfunding platform ‘donateinc’ and the manifesto idea management portal ‘awaazbharaki’. Khalid’s other notable achievements include developing a photo search AI tool for the Bharat Jodo Yatra and creating a membership portal for the All India Mahila Congress. He played a pivotal role in the development of the INC Digital Membership App and issued a digital membership card to the then TPCC President (and present Chief Minister) A Revanth Reddy.

Expressing his gratitude for the new appointment, Khalid thanked Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, and INC Data & Analytics Department Chairman Praveen Chakravarty. He remarked that his promotion to the post demonstrated that professionals with no political background, but a passion for public service, have ample opportunities for growth within the Congress party.

“I am committed to using data and technology, including advanced tools like Generative AI, to support every department and leader in the Congress. My goal is to fully leverage data and technology for the benefit of the party. With my extensive experience, proven track record, and deep dedication to the Congress, I believe I am well-suited for this role,” Khalid said.

Praveen Chakravarty, in a tweet, welcomed Khalid’s promotion, stating, “A richly deserved promotion for my colleague Khalid Saifullah Syed to Vice Chairman of @INCIndia’s Data & Technology department.
