Khammam: MBBS Student Commits Suicide in Hostel

Khammam: A distressing incident unfolded at Mamatha Medical College in Khammam, as a 22-year-old BDS student, identified as Samudrala Manasa, took her own life in her hostel room.

The police suspect that familial disputes may have driven her to such a drastic step. Hailing from Warangal, Manasa was in the final year of her studies.

According to the authorities, Manasa resided in a hostel near the college premises and committed suicide by setting fire to her. Concerned students and hostel staff became alarmed when they noticed something unusual and discovered Manasa collapsed on the floor.

Immediately, they contacted the 108 medical emergency services and informed the police, who arrived to find her lifeless. Her parents in Warangal were notified about the heartbreaking incident. The body was later transferred for postmortem examination. The Khammam urban police have initiated an investigation into the suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the suicide might be connected to family matters. This news has caused considerable distress, particularly in light of the recent controversial suicide case of Dr. D. Preethi, a postgraduate student at Kakatiya Medical College. Dr. Mohd Saif, her senior, is currently under investigation in relation to that incident.
