Hyderabad, May 19: Police in Khammam registered a case against an Inspector of Police attached to the DGP office for allegedly deceiving a married woman with a false promise of marriage and forcing her to undergo abortions.

According to police sources, the woman first approached the women police station in Khammam in February 2026 over family disputes with her husband.
The accused officer, identified as Raju Naik, was serving as Circle Inspector at the station at that time. Police said he allegedly collected the woman’s phone number and later developed close contact with her through calls and messages.

The complaint alleged that Raju Naik promised to marry the woman and had sexual relations with her on multiple occasions, resulting in pregnancy.

The woman further alleged that the accused administered medicines to terminate her pregnancy twice.
Sources said both parties initially attempted to settle the matter through village elders. However, after talks failed, the woman lodged a formal complaint on May 7.

Based on the complaint, the Two Town police registered an FIR under Sections 69 and 88 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
The case relates to allegations of sexual intercourse through deceitful means and voluntarily causing miscarriage. Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
