KIMS MoU To Launch 25 Robotic Surgical Systems Across India

Hyderabad, Oct 3 (Maxim News): Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospitals on Thursday announced an MoU with Intuitive, the US-based biotechnology major that manufactures Da Vinci robotic systems for minimally invasive care surgeries.

The collaboration will establish 25 robotic surgery programs featuring Da Vinci robotic-assisted surgical systems in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Kerala, with a focus on expanding access to advanced minimally invasive surgical care in tier 2 and tier 3 cities,  a press release said.

The systems will be deployed in key locations including Secunderabad, Begumpet, Kondapur, Gachibowli, Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Rajahmundry, Ongole, Kurnool, Nellore and Anantapur, Nagpur, Nashik, Thane, bengaluru and Kannur in Kerala.

Dr. Bollineni Bhaskar Rao, CMD, KIMS Hospitals, said by broadening access to advanced technologies like robotic-assisted surgery, the aim is to improve care for patients across tier 2 and tier 3 cities. 

As part of this collaboration, Intuitive India will provide comprehensive technology training, customer service, and support to surgeons and care teams associated with KIMS Hospitals. (Maxim News)
