- Kiren Rijiju shares video of Congress MPs shouting in Speaker’s Chamber
- Ruckus followed Nishikant Dubey speech on Nehru Gandhi family in Lok Sabha
Hyderabad: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju released a video showing Congress MPs shouting in the Speaker’s Chamber. The development comes amid rising tensions between the ruling and opposition parties in Parliament.
According to the details provided, a few days ago Congress MPs went into the Lok Sabha Speaker’s Chamber and shouted loudly. Minister Rijiju said that the video was taken by Congress MPs. Congress MP Jyotimani is seen pointing her finger at Union Minister Rijiju and shouting loudly. The incident has now sparked fresh political exchanges.
The episode reportedly took place on the day BJP MP Nishikant Dubey spoke in the House. During his speech, he criticized former prime ministers. He also made some comments on the Nehru Gandhi family. Dubey, who brought books to the House, made objectionable comments on the Nehra Gandhi family, citing issues mentioned in those books. In response, Congress leaders led by Priyanka Gandhi and KC Venugopal went into the Speaker’s chamber and demanded action against Dubey.
Congress leaders alleged that Rahul Gandhi would have objected if he had mentioned an issue from a book. However, they said Dubey was making comments from some books. The situation then escalated inside the Speaker’s Chamber.
Responding to the ruckus, Kiren Rijiju criticized the behavior of Congress leaders. He said it was unfortunate that this happened in front of senior leaders like Priyanka and Venugopal. Rijiju said that such incidents did not happen during our time in the opposition. He added that he did not expect Rahul Gandhi’s behavior to change or the Congress to change.
In his post, Rijiju said that about 25 MPs entered the Speaker’s Chamber that day and made harsh comments about him and Prime Minister Modi. However, he said his party believes in discussions and has never encouraged physical attacks on MPs. The incident has further deepened the political divide between the ruling BJP and the Congress in Parliament. (Maxim News)
