Kishan Reddy hits out at TRS govt

Hyderabad, March 27 (Maxim News): Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy today lashed out at state government and alleged that the ruling TRS party had brought the issue of the parboiled rice to fore only after facing a humiliating defeat in Huzurabad Assembly constituency by-elections. He alleged that the state government had not yet given raw rice to the central government and added that the stocks of the parboiled rice were lying in their godowns. He said none use the parboiled rice and added that even the children were not eating it. Reddy said that different states of the country had reduced its production .

Talking about the steps initiated by their government, he said that as against ₹3400 crores spent by the central government in the year 2014 for the procurement of the paddy, he said that they spent ₹26,600 crores for the paddy procurement last year. Referring to the statements made by him and the BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on the issue , he claimed that the prosecution of the paddy would not go up in the state due to their statements. He made it clear that they would the paddy as per the agreement executed wit the central government. He said that the stocks of rice were lying idle for the last six years and added that they were distributing ₹2.6 lakh crore worth rice free of cost to the people of the country.

He also said that they were also giving ₹3 a Kg rice free of cost to 80 crores people of the country. He said that the stocks of the raw rice had piled up in the country and added that the rice would be wasted if they bought it for political reasons . Commenting on the rise in the prices of Petrol and diesel in the country, reddy blamed the ongoing war between Ukrain-Russia for the sudden increase in the prices . He claimed that the party had lost the elections due to their mistakes in Punjab. (Maxim News)
