Kodandaram Pays Rich Tributes To Komuram Bheem

Hyderabad, Aug.9 (Maxim News): Telangana Jana Samithi M. Kodandaram on Friday paid rich tributes to tribal leader Komuram Bheem on the occasion of International Tribals Day at the Tank Bund. He garlanded the statue of the tribal leader and paid floral tributes to him.

Speaking on the occasion, Kodandaram said the United Nations had asked various countries across the world to strive for the uplift of the tribals and passed a resolution to that effect in the year 1994. Alleging that rights of the tribals were being trampled upon in the Telangana State, Kodandaram said the State government was not implementing tribal land rights laws in the forests where uranium was being extracted from the forest areas. He also said there was a need to protect the tribal languages and strengthen the ITDA. (Maxim News)
