Kondapur Area Hospital Doctor Suspended for Demanding Money

Hyderabad, May 23 (Maxim News): A doctor working at the area hospital in Kondapur, Hyderabad, has been suspended from the service on the charge of demanding money from a person for the issuance of medical fitness certificate.

The action was initiated against the doctor when Minister for Health T Harish Rao made a surprise visit to the hospital where the complainant brought the matter to the notice of the Minister.

Switfly responding to the matter after examining the facts, Harish Rao ordered the suspension of doctor from service with immediate effect.

On the occasion, Minister Harish Rao said that State government would not encourage indulging in the corruption and assured that the department would take all measures to ensure that such kind of incidents would not be repeated in the days to come.

Harish Rao also inspected the gynecology ward and enquired about facilities being provided to patients.

He felt happy that the institutional deliveries are being reported more than 60 percent in the hospital.

The Minister also advised the doctors to conduct scanning to patients regularly in the gynecology ward and to take utmost care while discharging duties. (Maxim News)
