Five corporators who won as independent candidates in the recent elections officially joined the Congress Party on Sunday. The joining took place in the presence of State Revenue, Housing and Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy in Khammam. He welcomed the five corporators at his camp office. He covered them with party scarves and greeted them warmly. Meanwhile, several important leaders from the Kothagudem constituency attended the programme and congratulated the new members.
Those who joined the Congress include Seerapu Suguna from the 1st Division, Talugu Shantha from the 13th Division, Battu Vijayalakshmi from the 34th Division, Dunnapotula Mani from the 42nd Division, and Dharmasoth Naresh from the 48th Division. Their entry has strengthened the party’s position in the Kothagudem Corporation Results.
With these additions, the number of Congress supporters has reached 28 along with the CPM. Therefore, the Congress Party now holds a clear advantage in the municipal administration. The ruling party will easily win the Kothagudem Corporation Mayor’s post, according to the developments.
Speaking on the occasion, the corporators said they took the decision after being attracted by the welfare schemes and development programs implemented by the state government. They believed that the Congress party is the right platform to provide better services to the people at the field level.
