KRMB Allocates 140 Tmc To TS, 84 Tmc To AP

Hyderabad, Jan.9 (Maxim News): The Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) concluded its meeting at Jala Soudha here. RK Gupta, Chairman, Board members and officials of both the States attended the meeting. The Chairman declared that 140 TMC waters was allotted to Telangana State and 84 TMC to Andhra Pradesh respectively.

Talking to the media later, Gupta said the river water was allocated in the ratio of 66 percent and 34 percent among the two Telugu States. The Board also discussed on usage of flood waters. The Telangana officials urged the Board to consider additional 45 TMC water and 20 percent waters for domestic use.

On this, the board said it will take the appeals of Telangana Government to the notice of Central Water Commission. As per the AP Reorganization Act of 2014, the KRMB exists in Andhra Pradesh. (Maxim News)
