There is heavy police surveillance at KTR’s residence in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Upon getting the information that K.T. Rama Rao was planning to organize a protest against the arrest of MLA Kaushik Reddy, the police put him under House arrest. When he asked about his arrest, the police convinced him that any kind of protest would lead to unnecessary problems.

Cause of Kaushik Reddy’s Arrest

There were three FIRs filed against Kaushik Reddy when he allegedly abused Jagtial legislator Sanjay Kumar at a district review committee meeting in Karimnagar on January 12. Kaushik Reddy and Sanjay Kumar (Congress) got into a heated argument.

On Monday evening, he was arrested from Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad by the Karimnagar police when Jagtial’s PA accused him of “obstructing, abusing and physically assaulting” Sanjay Kumar as stated by the police.

BRS condemns the Arrest

BRS leaders strongly condemned his arrest and shared a post on X which read, “BRS MLA Kaushik Reddy illegally arrested for questioning Congress party’s concessions! It is completely undemocratic to bring back an MLA who defected from the party and to file illegal cases against BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy and arrest him.

Revanth Sarkar has made it a habit to unjustly arrest BRS leaders every day with an illegal case to cover up his affairs. If asked, will they resort to oppression because they cannot answer?”.
