KTR asks BJP leaders to compete with ruling party in developing City & fetch funds

Hyderabad, March 16 (Maxim News): Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development K Taraka Ramarao today called upon the people to join hands for development of Greater Hyderabad city. He said, “Let us the corporators of ruling party and BJP compete for development of the metropolitan city.” Stating that politics should be alive at the time of elections, KTR said the rival parties can explain to the people about the contribution of parties to the development of the city and the voters would decide whom to favour.

Referring to the permanent eradication of flood havoc in the City, KTR said if the State government take up flood relief works and spent Rs 1,000 crore, the Union minister concerned should bring Rs 10,000 crore from the Centre. Reminding that the BJP government at the Centre had failed to pay even one Rupee to the Telangana government for the flood relief works, KTR said if the Union minister from Hyderabad Kishan Reddy fetch funds from the Centre for flood relief works, the State government would felicitate him in the middle of the Hyderabad city.

Speaking on the occasion, KTR said development works have been taken up in all the four corners of the metropolitan city. He said flyovers and underpass road works were taken up at a cost of Rs 672 crore under the LB Naga Assembly constituency. Similarly, storm water drain works at cost of Rs 33.34 crore, protected drinking water works and 12 reservoirs were taken up at a cost of Rs 313 crore. The State government spent Rs 2,500 crore for developmental works i.e. Rs 43 crore for sewerage works, Rs 4.58 crore for construction of Vaikunta dhamam, Rs 4 crore for animal care center, Rs 4 crore for construction of a function hall. The minister said construction of 1,000 double bedroom houses was completed.

Today Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, Ministers Sabita Indra Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Mohd Mahmood Ali, MLC B Dayanand, MLA Sudheer Reddy, GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, Deputy Mayor Srilatha Shobhan Reddy laid foundation stones for the development of eight nalas in LB Nagar constituency taken up at a cost of Rs 103 crore.
