KTR Clarifies On Nine Mosques Demolished In The State: Says Congress Hatched Conspiracy To Incite Communal Riots Before Elections

Hyderabad, Nov 28 (Maxim News): The ruling BRS Working President and Minister K. Tarak Rama Rao said that congress hatched a major conspiracy to incite communal riots before the Assembly elections alleging that the BRS government demolished 9 mosques.

Interacting with the media persons, at his residence, (Pragathi Bhavan) today, KTR alleged that the Congress leaders are repeatedly making such allegations on various platforms and also misled some Muslim organizations to believe that the allegations were true. When we have gone through the allegations, it has come to know that all allegations were false and Congress wanted to spread false propaganda against the BRS government with the aim to create major communal riots before elections.

Giving the clarification on the 9 mosques mentioned, KTR explained that two were demolished alongside a temple during the reconstruction of the Telangana Secretariat, These mosques, Masjid Daftar-e-Motamadi and Masjid-E-Hashmee, were built along with the original Secretariat complex.

In the case of Masjid Ek Khana and Ashoor Khana in Amberpet, the structure, originally used as a residence, was demolished to make way for road expansion.  Surprisingly, a Muslim family occupying the structure received compensation of Rs. 2.5 crore from the Hyderabad Municipality for the acquisition of the land, in this case, the Muslim family, rather than the government, bears more responsibility for the demolition.

The Masjid-e-Khaja Mahmood was demolished under the supervision of a Muslim Municipal Commissioner during the early hours of the morning. A local man, Vishal Singh, had filed a petition in the High Court alleging that the mosque was illegally constructed.  The demolition took place around 4.00 AM while the matter was still under consideration in court.  The Municipal Commissioner at the time was Sabir Ali,  Immediately after learning of the mosque’s demolition, Home Minister Muhammad Mahmood Ali and Waqf Board leaders immediately intervened and ensured its prompt reconstruction.

As far as the demolition of Qutb Shahi masjid in shamirpet is concerned, it was the handiwork of land grabbers, but this plot was thwarted.  The reconstruction of the demolished mosque has been supported by local Hindus.

In 2019, a mosque located in a forest area in Kothagudem Bhadradri was martyred by the officials of the forest department, on which the local Muslims protested fiercely. Subsequently, permission was granted to rebuild the mosque and it has been reconstructed.

BRS has also been accused of demolishing Masjid-E-Noori in Shamshabad.  However, the mosque itself remains intact.  In august 2022, the mulgi adjacent to the mosque was demolished as part of the national highway expansion project.  The demolition was carried out by the national Highways Authority of India, not the state government.

Allegations of a mosque demolition in Jalalguda, Balapur, have also surfaced.  In August 2020, Congress leader Usman Muhammad claimed in a video that a mosque had been demolished.  However, a closer examination of his claims reveals that he himself was uncertain about the mosque’s existence.  His assertion that the mosque was demolished while standing in a graveyard raises questions about its authenticity, as no visible debris of any structure remains.  Furthermore, it is unclear why a mosque would be built within a graveyard.

Finally, claims of the demolition of Qutb Shahi Masjid behind Hayat bakshi Masjid have emerged, but no evidence to support these claims has been found.  (Maxim News)
