Speaking ahead of former Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao’s presentation titled “River Waters and Congress Betrayals” at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday, KTR said the Telangana Assembly was witnessing a collapse of decorum. He blamed Revanth Reddy’s conduct as Leader of the House for what he described as falling standards. He also objected strongly to the language used by the Chief Minister against BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

KTR said Chandrashekar Rao was a leader who risked his life to achieve statehood for Telangana. He added that the former Chief Minister had transformed drought hit regions. In contrast, he said Revanth Reddy was speaking with arrogance born out of power and a lack of restraint. He accused the Chief Minister of lowering the dignity of the House through his remarks.

Revanth Reddy is using intemperate language against the BRS chief as he cannot differentiate between basins, irrigation projects and the tribunals. He clearly deserves the title “thumb-sized men” given by the late NT Rama Rao to the Congress leaders,” KTR said.

KTR also reacted strongly to references about the Chief Minister allegedly calling for hanging Chandrashekar Rao and Harish Rao. He turned the argument against the Congress and questioned its historical role in Telangana. “If someone has to be punished for betraying Telangana, how many times should the Congress be hanged for cheating Telangana repeatedly?” he asked.

He further alleged that Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy, had gone back on key promises. These included assurances related to job creation, farm loan waivers, and 42 percent reservation for Backward Classes. According to him, these failures reflected poorly on the current administration.

KTR said Harish Rao’s presentation exposed what he called decades of betrayal by the Congress on inter state river water issues. He accused the Chief Minister of aligning with forces opposed to Telangana’s interests. He also alleged that the state was suffering due to political immaturity, incompetence, and corruption under the Congress leadership. The remarks have intensified the political confrontation between the ruling party and the opposition in Telangana.
