Hyderabad, June 2: BRS working president K T Rama Rao and BRS Legislature Party deputy leader T Harish Rao paid tributes to the martyrs of the Telangana movement on Telangana State Formation Day and extended greetings to the people of the State.
In separate statements, both leaders remembered the sacrifices made during the Telangana movement and highlighted the significance of June 2 in the State’s history.
Rama Rao described June 2 as the day Telangana emerged from decades of discrimination, humiliation, and oppression. He said the sacrifices of martyrs and the long struggle for self respect led to the formation of Telangana, fulfilling a six decade aspiration for separate statehood.
He credited BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao with successfully leading the movement and achieving the Statehood goal.
Rama Rao also said the BRS would continue to fight for the protection of Telangana’s identity and raise issues concerning its people. He urged party cadres to dedicate themselves to public service and safeguard the interests of the State.
Harish Rao said Telangana State Formation Day represents the fulfilment of the aspirations of four crore people and the victory of Telangana’s self respect.
He stated that Telangana was achieved through the leadership of K Chandrashekhar Rao and the collective efforts of people from all sections of society.
Harish Rao further said Telangana had emerged as a model state in welfare and development over the past decade. He called upon the people to remain committed to preserving the State’s identity and self respect.
