Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KTR introduced the safety protocol vehicles for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) on Saturday.
These vehicles have been introduced to increase worker safety while doing operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks on the city’s sewerage network and sewage treatment plant (STP) operations.
Six safety protocol teams have also been established by the HMWS&SB to enhance safety procedures.
These teams will travel to every location where water pipeline, sewerage line, manhole cleaning, STP installation, etc. construction is taking place, according to a news release from HMWS&SB.
In order to ensure that repairs to manholes, sewer lines, leak detection, and water pipes are carried out effectively, new monitoring systems have been designed for all job sites.
