KTR lays foundation for construction of new bridges across the Musi River

Hyderabad, September 25: Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister KTR laid the foundation stone at Uppal Bhagayath for the construction of five bridges at various locations across the Musi River in Hyderabad. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) will build these bridges across the Musi River at a cost of Rs. 168 crore.

Earlier, the MA&UD Minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction of a four-lane high-level bridge on the Musi River between Fathullaguda and Peerzadiguda in Hyderabad as a part of HRDCL’s missing link roads development initiative.

This bridge will connect the Central Ground Water Board to important areas such as Boduppal, Peerzadiguda, Uppal, and Warangal National Highway, facilitating the smooth movement of goods and people between these locations. The travel distance of the commuters will be reduced from 9 km to 4 km, whereas the travel time will come down from 21 minutes to 10 minutes.

Speaking at the occasion, Minister KTR said that the State government will be constructing a total of 15 bridges across the River Musi at different locations in the city for Rs 545 crore. Of these, the Fathullaguda bridge will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 52 crore.

The Minister highlighted that these bridges would be unique in themselves and different from one another in design aspects. He opined that these bridges would be the next favorite option for film shootings after Durgam Cheru in the city.

The Minister also stated that these bridges will improve road connectivity and also add beauty to this region. He highlighted the road infrastructure development that took place in Nagole, LB Nagar, and Bairamalguda areas in recent years. He also added that the metro connectivity service from Nagole to LB Nagar would be taken up, besides Pedda Amberpet near ORR.

“Hyderabad city generates nearly 45 percent of the State’s revenue. People would live happily if basic amenities like power, drinking water, and law and order were maintained in the city,” said the MA&UD Minister.

The Minister stated that in the last nine years, the government had completed several projects. “People should support leaders and the government, which is working for the welfare and development of the State,” he said.
