KTR made these remarks during his visit to Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, where he felicitated BRS candidates who won the Sarpanch elections.

Addressing party leaders and elected representatives, KTR stated that the Sarpanch poll outcomes revealed the true standing of the BRS at the village level.

KTR said the results showed that the party’s support base remained intact despite setbacks in recent Assembly and Parliament elections. He added that those defeats were not caused by external forces but due to internal shortcomings.

KTR said the party failed to effectively communicate its development work to the public. He observed that the BRS leadership could not properly highlight its achievements or project governance outcomes at the grassroots. According to him, this communication gap directly impacted electoral performance.

Referring to the decade-long BRS rule under K Chandrashekar Rao, KTR said no other government in the country had implemented similar village level initiatives.

KTR listed infrastructure and welfare measures such as Vaikuntha Dhamams, Rythu Vedikas, dump yards, tractors for villages, Rythu Bandhu, Dalit Bandhu, Kalyana Lakshmi, sports grounds, and large scale plantation under Haritha Haram.

However, he admitted that the party failed to convey these achievements convincingly to voters and did not sufficiently engage lower level leadership.

On the issue of defections, KTR criticised the Speaker’s decision regarding MLAs who switched parties. He alleged that the Speaker’s actions were influenced by the Chief Minister and said the ruling reflected political pressure rather than constitutional principles.

He further remarked that defected MLAs lacked the courage to resign and face by elections, claiming they feared electoral defeat.

KTR also commented on individual leaders, stating that several defected MLAs had lost public credibility. He said continued association with the ruling dispensation was eroding their political standing. He reiterated that the BRS would strengthen its organisation and focus on reconnecting with grassroots workers in the coming period. (Maxim News)
