The minister reacted after Amit Shah on Thursday said the people in States should communicate in Hindi and not English.

Hindi remarks

In a tweet, KTR found fault with the statement of Amit Shah for forcing the people to speak in a particular language. He said, “India is regarded as the land of unity in diversity. The term “Unity in diversity in India” implies the feeling of oneness and togetherness even after having a lot of diversity. But, one cannot impose any language forcibly. Wearing of costumes, food habits and offering prayers and believing the faith are the personal choice of individuals. Nobody has right to impose his or her interests on some others. We don’t have any problem learning other languages, but the forcible imposition was not the right thing,” KTR added.
