Hyderabad, Feb.13 (Maxim News): IT Minister KT Rama Rao charged Centre with not helping States to develop. The regional parties were emerging victorious and will be alternative to replace the national parties that failed to deliver the goods, he said, adding that the Congress and the BJP were losing sheen and public support.
Participating in a program in the national capital, KTR rejected the comments of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman that the Centre had offered more funds to Telangana than its rightful share. “This is totally false and uncalled for”, he said, adding that the Centre was making false claims. “The Union Finance Minister’s comments are totally wrong as there was no cooperative federalism from the Centre”, he said.
Stating that the State has offered Rs 2.75 lakh crore to the Centre in various taxes in six years, he said the Centre failed to give back Rs 1.15 lakh crore so far, he said. He also clarified that the Centre has not yet released GST share of taxes to Telangana or other States. The nation will be strong when the States are strong, he felt. However, the Centre was not extending the needed support to the progressive States like Telangana. He also said the Centre was reluctant to help the States become stronger. Though it was strong in Karnataka, the BJP was losing people’s support due its lopsided policies, he added.
“We opposed the CAA, but gave issue-based support to the BJP government at the Centre. Though the TRS supported Note Ban decision of the Modi government, we expressed displeasure at its ramifications. The entire world was looking at Telangana for making rapid growth. The regional parties will have better future as the national parties were losing people’s trust, he added. (Maxim News)
