KTR Slams Government After 650 Houses Demolished in Velugumatla
KTR on Velugumatla demolitions | Hyderabad, Feb. 27: Revenue officials demolished around 650 houses in Velugumatla, on the outskirts of Khammam. The land falls under Bhoodan category.
Police deployed heavy security during the demolition.
Residents say officials gave no prior notice. They also say officers did not give them time to remove their belongings.
As a result, many families lost everything in a few hours. Several people broke down in tears.
Soon after, BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao visited the area. He met the affected families. He assured them of support. Later, he criticised the state government on X.
KTR on Velugumatla demolitions
KTR targeted Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He alleged that the government wants to sell the land. He claimed the government demolished poor people’s houses to raise money.
K T Rama Rao also accused the Chief Minister of building a second palace in Hyderabad. In addition, he alleged that the government spent ₹9 crore on a compound wall. He said ministers focus on wealth instead of welfare.
Furthermore, KTR said this is not a government. He called it a real estate company. He claimed leaders act like brokers while poor families suffer.
Meanwhile, residents continue to demand justice. They want rehabilitation and compensation. However, officials have not yet given a detailed response.
The issue has now turned into a political controversy in Telangana.
