Police say Zikra Khan has confessed to his involvement in the murder during interrogation. Following the incident, Kunal’s family and residents of the neighborhood protested until late at night, prompting the deployment of security forces in the area.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta assured the victim’s family of justice. “I have spoken to the police commissioner, the police are doing their best, and I hope the culprits will be arrested soon,” she said.

According to the police, the fight began in November 2024, when one of Kunal’s associates attacked a man. Kunal was also present at the scene. On Thursday evening, the accused stopped Kunal in the market, about 50 meters from his house, and two youths stabbed him repeatedly. The incident was recorded on a nearby CCTV.

My husband ran towards where Kunal was being attacked, but by the time he reached, the attackers had fled. He saw four or five boys and a woman running away,” said Kunal’s mother, Parveen Devi.

The injured Kunal was taken to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where he died during treatment in front of his parents.

He was lying in blood, and we were there. But the attack was so brutal that no one could do anything,” Parveen Devi added.
