Lal Darwaja Bonalu To Begin From July 11

Hyderabad, June 1 (Maxim News): The Patabasti Lal Darwaja Sri Mahaankali Bonalu Jatara Utsavam, celebrated with the greatest pomp and grandeur in the Telangana region, will begin from July 11. The temple committee is making all arrangements to organize the 117th annual Brahmotsavam in the most grand manner this year.

On this occasion, the temple will be beautifully decorated with colorful lights. The first day of the Bonalu Utsavam, which will begin from the 11th, will begin with Ganapati Homam in the morning, Saptasati Parayanam, Devi Abhishekam, Dhwajarohan, Shikhar Vuja, and Kalash Sthapana in the evening. On July 13, the Goddess Ghatam will be brought in a procession from the Shalibanda Kashi Vishwanatha Swamy Temple with Bhaja Bhajantri and Dappu Vaidhya and installed in the temple. After that, the goddess is decorated in various forms and worshipped for 9 days. On Sunday, July 20, Bonalu is offered to the goddess, and at night, Shanti Kalyanam is performed to pray for world peace. On Monday, July 21, the festivities will end with the welcome of the Potharaju, the Rangam, and a grand procession of the goddess.

We have been organizing Bonalu festivals in Telangana Bhavan, the national capital, for the last 10 years to reflect the culture and traditions of Telangana. This year, the 11th Bonalu festival is being organized grandly on June 30, July 1, and 2 under the auspices of Lal Darwaja SimhaVahini Sri Mahankali Temple Committee. On Monday, the 30th, at 5 pm, a photo exhibition will be inaugurated by many celebrities in the Telangana Bhavan premises.

On Tuesday, the 1st, at 4 pm, the Goddess’s Ghatam will be taken out in procession from India Gate and installed at Telangana Bhavan. On Wednesday, at 11 am, the Potharaju will welcome the Goddess, offer bonala, and many dignitaries will visit the Goddess and perform special pujas. On behalf of the Central and State Governments, a gold bonam and silk clothes will be offered to the Goddess. The closing ceremony will be held at Ambedkar Auditorium at 6 pm. (Maxim News)
