Hyderabad, Dec.6 (Maxim News): Explaining the circumstances that led to the encounter of the gang rapists of veterinary doctor in the early hours, Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar said, “Law has done its duty.

Speaking to the media at the encounter spot near Chatanpally in Shamshabad after the panchanama and other judicial formalities were completed, Sajjanar said after getting custody of the accused on December 2, they took up investigation and questioned accused Mohd Arif, Chennakesahavulu, Jollu Naveen and Jollu Siva, of Makthal mandal in Narayanpet district. He said the investigators questioned the accused about the victim’s mobile phone and other items which were missing. The accused revealed their location. As part of offence scene reconstruction, the accused were brought to Chatanpally by ten policemen.

The CP said when the cops were near the location, while the main accused Mohd Arif and Chennakesavulu snatched their weapons and opened fire at them, the other two Jollu Siva and Jollu Naveen started pelting stones at them and attacked the police with sticks. In self-defence, the police opened fire at the fleeing accused killing them on the spot. The incident was over in just five to 10 minutes at about 5.30 am, he said.

The CP said two policemen, including a sub-inspector Venkateswarlu from Makthal and a police constable were grievously injured in the attack by the accused. They were sent to hospital. The victim’s cell phone, watch and other articles were also recovered from the spot, he said. The bodies were shifted to Mahbubnagar Government Hospital for post mortem. (Maxim News)
