Officials said the spike in liquor sales Telangana reflected strong consumer demand during the festive period. They revealed that the scale of sales extended beyond the three-day window. In the last six days alone, liquor sales worth Rs 1,350 crore were recorded across the state. However, officials did not provide a district-wise or city-wise break-up of the sales figures.

Meanwhile, data shared by officials highlighted the volume of liquor and beer sold during the three-day period. They said that 8.30 lakh cases of liquor were sold across Telangana in these three days. At the same time, beer sales also remained high. Officials stated that 7.78 lakh cases of beer were sold during the same period, reflecting strong demand for alcoholic beverages during New Year celebrations.

Also, officials linked the sharp rise in liquor sales Telangana to seasonal trends seen every year around New Year. However, they did not comment on comparisons with previous years or on revenue expectations. They also did not share details about enforcement measures or regulations in place during the sales period.

Later, officials reiterated that the figures represented cumulative sales across Telangana. They confirmed that the numbers covered licensed outlets operating during the period.
