Hyderabad: In a community service initiative aimed at promoting dignity, hygiene, and environmental responsibility, Lodge Keys No. 297 distributed 402 stainless steel meal plates to students of Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS), Yedapally, in Telangana’s Nizamabad district.
The initiative ensures that every student has a durable plate for the Mid-Day Meal Programme, replacing the need for disposable or inadequate alternatives.

The stainless steel plates were sponsored by V. Surya Prakash and Hima Shailaja, who supported the initiative to improve the dining experience of government school students.
Members of Lodge Keys No. 297 travelled from Hyderabad to personally hand over the plates to the students during a programme attended by teachers, village representatives and community members.
Addressing the gathering, speakers said meaningful social change often begins by addressing simple but essential needs. They stressed that every child deserves a dignified and hygienic dining experience at school and encouraged individuals, organisations and philanthropists to support similar initiatives in government schools.
A special attraction of the programme was a monologue by student Abhiram, who highlighted the harmful impact of plastic pollution. Wearing a costume made from discarded plastic materials, he explained how plastic waste remains in the environment for hundreds of years and poses a serious threat to nature and living beings.
Through his performance, Abhiram appealed to the audience to make their homes, schools and communities plastic-free by adopting environmentally responsible practices.
The event was attended by donor V. Surya Prakash, Yedapally Sarpanch Kandagatla Ramachander, D. Ramachandram, Lodge Keys No. 297 members Ayyanna, Gangareddy, Suryanarayana, Bandi Shankar, Prakash Rao, Ram Chander and Lingesh Gupta, BJP leader Mallepalli Srinivas, along with the school headmaster, teachers, village elders and students.
The school management thanked V. Surya Prakash for sponsoring the stainless steel plates and appreciated the members of Lodge Keys No. 297 for their continued commitment to community service and support for government school students.
