Lok Sabha Adjourned Indefinitely: Key Bills Approved
Delhi/Hyderabad, Dec 19 (Maxim News) The winter session of Parliament ended today (Friday). The Lok Sabha was adjourned indefinitely. The sessions began on December 1. They continued till the 19th (today). The sessions were held for a total of 15 days. The winter session of Parliament was heated. During the sessions, the Lok Sabha approved several key bills.
Key bills passed by Lok Sabha
The Lok Sabha has approved the bill named ‘VB Ji Ram Ji’ to replace the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. The bill was passed amidst protests and agitations by opposition MPs. Following the approval of the bill in the Lok Sabha, the bill will be introduced in the Rajya Sabha.
Parliament has passed the Shanti Bill, which seeks to invite private participation in the nuclear energy sector. The Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India (Shanti) Bill was passed by the Rajya Sabha by a voice vote.
The Lok Sabha has passed the Insurance Amendment Bill (Sab Ka Bima Sab Ka Raksha) which increases the foreign investment limit in the insurance sector to 100 percent, amid protests from the opposition.
The Lok Sabha has approved the Manipur Goods and Services Tax (Second Amendment) Bill, 2025.
