He said, “Thank you to Prime Minister Modi for drastically reducing excise duties on petrol and diesel. This decision taken by Prime Minister Modi without burdening the common and middle class people is commendable.”
He further praised the NDA government for acting in public interest. He said the excise duty on petrol and diesel has been reduced by Rs 10 per litre. He also stated that diesel has been completely abolished. Meanwhile, he added that the decision shows the government’s commitment to welfare.
Continuing his remarks, Nara Lokesh said the move would provide relief to people facing rising fuel costs. He said, “With this decision taken to provide relief to the people, the NDA has once again proven that it is a public welfare government. They are taking precautions to prevent fuel shortage in the country.”
He also referred to global factors affecting fuel prices. He said, “Excise duty has been drastically reduced to prevent fuel prices from rising, giving relief to the people from the impact of the West Asian war. I sincerely thank Prime Minister Modi and the central government for that.”
Meanwhile, the central government issued orders on Friday to reduce excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 10 per litre. According to the revised structure, petrol prices have been reduced by Rs 3 per litre. At the same time, excise duty on diesel has been brought down to zero.
The Lokesh thanks Modi statement comes as the Centre moves to ease the burden on consumers. The fuel excise cut is expected to provide relief amid rising global price pressures.
