LRS Process Should Be Completed Within 3 Months: Ponguleti To Collectors
Bhupalapally/Hyderabad, Aug 3 (Maxim News): Minister for Revenue and Information, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has taken key decisions on the Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS) process. He directed the District Collectors to speed up LRS which will benefit lakhs of families. He ordered that land regularization should be done only as per the rules and this process should be completed within three months without any irregularities.

He said that the people have a lot of hopes for their government and it is suggested that the common people should take action without the involvement of middlemen. Minister Ponguleti directed that due care should be taken in this process especially to ensure that government lands do not go into the hands of private individuals.
Minister Ponguleti held a video conference with District Collectors on Saturday on LRS. The Minister, who is on a visit to Bhupalapally district, participated from the district collector’s office.

Speaking on this occasion, Ponguleti reminded that the KCR government accepted LRS applications from August 31 to October 31, 2020. He said that 25.70 lakh applications have been received during this time and these applications have not been resolved in the last four years.
Out of a total of 25.70 lakh applications, 3.58 lakh applications were received from HMDA, 1.06 lakh from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, 13.69 lakh from Municipal Corporations and Municipalities, 6 lakh from Gram Panchayats and 1.35 lakh from Urban Development Authority. These applicants said that they had been waiting for the resolution of the problem for four years. Minister Ponguleti advised the Collectors to deal with these applications in the order of highest priority.

He directed to form the special teams in the districts, if there is a shortage of staff, they should be taken on deputation from other departments, if proposals are sent, the staff will be adjusted from the revenue department, he said. It has been directed to form multidisciplinary teams of Revenue, Irrigation, and Municipal officials for consideration of LRS applications. It is suggested that help centers should be set up immediately in the offices of all District Collectorates and local bodies to solve the problems related to the notices issued on regularization applications.
Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that the district collectors will monitor the applications of the remaining areas except for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority, and municipalities.

He said that training should be undertaken immediately for all levels of staff and officers involved in the processing of LRS applications. In view of the release of LRS procedures, the necessary activities for implementation should be taken up immediately and the District Collectors have been advised to continuously monitor this process.
It is suggested that due care should be taken in the matter of regularization of layouts in seven districts under the jurisdiction of HMDA as there are very valuable lands.

He said that the decision taken by his government will promote planned sustainable development in urban and rural areas of the state. It said development would be encouraged through approved layouts including legal recognition of their properties. Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy stated that the approved layout will help owners obtain building permits for house structures, obtain bank loans, and buy and sell. (Maxim News)
