Maha Shivaratri 2026: TSRTC To Run 2243 Special Buses
Hyderabad, Feb. 11 (Maxim News): TSRTC special buses for Maha Shivaratri will operate across Telangana to facilitate devotees traveling to major Shiva temples.
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation announced 2,243 special buses to 43 Shiva temples from February 14 to 16.
The corporation stated that the arrangements aim to prevent inconvenience to pilgrims during the Maha Shivaratri festival on February 15.
Compared to last year, TSRTC has increased services by 208 buses. Officials said additional buses will be deployed depending on passenger demand.
As per the plan, 781 special buses will operate to Srisailam, 416 to Vemulawada, and 249 to Edupayala.
Additionally, 326 buses will run to Keesaragutta, 127 to Vela, and 71 to Kaleshwaram. Another 273 buses will connect temples such as Komuravelli, Alampur, Umamaheswaram, Palakurthi, and Ramappa.
TSRTC Special Buses for Maha Shivaratri Routes and Charges
Special buses to Srisailam will depart from MGBS, JBS, CBS, IS Sadan, KPHB, and BHEL in Hyderabad. TSRTC will arrange shamianas, chairs, drinking water, and public address systems at key boarding points.
According to a state government order, ticket fares for special buses will be revised up to 1.5 times the regular fare.
However, regular services will continue at normal ticket prices. The revised fares will apply only to special buses operating from February 14 to 16. For Edupayala services, revised fares will apply from February 15 to 17.
Display boards will be placed on buses for passenger convenience. TSRTC Vice Chairman and Managing Director Y Nagi Reddy IPS reviewed arrangements with senior officials. He directed field officers to ensure smooth operations during the festival rush.
The corporation clarified that free bus travel for women in Pallevelugu, Express, City Ordinary, and Metro Express services will continue as per the government scheme. Women passengers must obtain zero fare tickets during travel.
