He stated that the main accused, Mohammed Ibrahim Qureshi, has been taken into custody. Two others, A3 Kuruva Srinivas and A4 Hasan bin Mosin, have also been detained for questioning. Meanwhile, A2 Hanif Qureshi remains absconding. According to the police, Ibrahim is involved in the cattle transportation business, and the attack stemmed from enmity after Prasanth reportedly exposed illegal cattle transport activities. The CP mentioned that Ibrahim had told investigators that he was acquainted with the activist and had suffered a loss of Rs 1 crore due to repeated interventions by Prasanth, who had earlier stopped cattle transport six times.

Investigators revealed that Ibrahim and his associates planned the attack as revenge. The accused allegedly stated that Prasanth had demanded Rs 5 lakhs to permit cattle movement. CP Sudheer Babu added that the investigation is being conducted from all possible angles. During interrogation, co-accused Srinivas admitted that he called Prasanth to the location by saying “Let’s settle, let’s talk,” before firing and fleeing the scene. The pistol used in the attack was reportedly purchased in Chhattisgarh.
