Major Setback To KCR On MLA Purchase Case: HC Handed Over Case To CBI

Hyderabad, Dec 26 (Maxim News): In a major setback to the ruling BRS President and Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao in the MLAs purchase case, the High Court of Telangana has given a sensational judgment in this case and orders have been issued handing over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)

It may be recalled that the KCR has constituted the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the said case with the Police and Revenue officials from the state and also alleged that the BJP has tried to poach 4 MLAs belonging to his party and also alleged that BJP is trying to topple his government by poaching this 4 MLAs and also made the big issue in the campaign of Munugode by-elections.

However, the High Court has quashed the SIT and ordered it to hand over the case to CBI immediately. It said that the details available with the SIT and all the information related to the investigation conducted so far should be given to the CBI.

The accused approached the High Court stating that they do not have faith in the SIT investigation in the farmhouse case. It has requested an inquiry by the CBI or an independent investigating agency. The petitioners have been objecting to the leak of investigation details since the beginning. The Judge brought to the notice that Chief Minister KCR had also leaked evidence.

Mahesh Jethmalani appeared on behalf of the petitioners and Dushyant Dave, a senior advocate of the Supreme Court on behalf of the SIT. After hearing both sides, the court agreed with the arguments of the petitioners. The verdict was quashing the SIT and handing over the case to the CBI. (Maxim News)
