Man arrested for spreading defamatory content against Hotel Shah Ghouse
The cyber crime police of Cyberabad arrested person who spread the defamatory content and pictures through whatsapp messenger blaming, the reputaion of the shah ghouse hotels, hyderabad.
Hyderabad, Dec 23 (Maxim News): The cyber crime police of Cyberabad arrested Valaboju Chandra Mohan s/o Venkata Chary, age: 22 yrs, occ: Gold Smith & Pursuing MBA r/o Rikab Gunj, Madina, Hyderabad here on Friday, for spreading the defamatory message about the meat used in Biryani cooking and damaging the reputation of using DOG meat and sending whatsapp messages and utilizing the pictures of dog slaughter meat whatsapp groups.
Acting On a complaint received a complaint from. Mohammad Rabbani, Proprietor of Shah Ghouse Hotels, Hyderabad on Dec 14 stating that he has branches in Shiliband, Tolichowli, Gachibowli. Since December 13 some unknown persons have been spreading rumors in WhatsApp message that the Cyberabad Police arrested hotel Shah Ghouse owner and that they are adding dog meat pieces in the cooking. Due to which the GHMC officials have came to his hotel and collected food samples to send them to laboratory for examination, this News spread in the city in news channels.
Some TV channels also telecasted this News without enquiring the facts. The complainant faced huge loss and lost the reputation of the restaurant. Hence, he requested for necessary action.
Basing on the above complainant registered a case in Cr.No.168/2016 u/s 290, 500 IPC and Sec. 66 (D) IT Act and took up investigation.
During the course of investigation, examined the complainant and collected the screenshots of the message. Mr. Rabbani in his statement, added that, his business and reputation of the hotel has been very badly affected and several employees of his hotel have lost their livelihood. A requisition is sent to WhatsApp messenger authorities for furnishing the details of registered mobile number and IP address along with date & time of the person who initially generated the message in WhatsApp messenger.
Simultaneously started the enquiry from the one of recipient to find out the origin of the message. After strenuous and contentious efforts by the person to person, the original person is identified as Valaboju Chandra Mohan who received the message in the WhatsApp group of his friends on December 8 at 08:31 PM ” చూసారా ప్రస్తుత మన మానవ సమాజం…. ధనార్జనే ధ్యేయంగా పెట్టుకున్న కొంతమంది ప్రబుద్ధులు చివరకు మటన్ లో కుక్క మాంసాన్ని కలిపి హోటల్స్ లో ఇలా కల్తీ చేస్తూ మనం నిత్యం తినే ఆహరం లో పెడుతున్నారు. దయచేసి బయట హోటల్స్ లో ఎక్కువగా ఆహరం తీసుకునే వారు జాగ్రత్త వహించండి..” along with the 3 pictures of dog slaughtering and dog meat. On seeing this messages he felt it to modify and send in his school WhatsApp group intending to create panic in the minds of his friends as well as common public.
Accordingly, he changed the message as “Today morning at 11:45 am the Cyberabad police arrested hotel Shahgouse owner that they adding dog peace’s” and sent in his school WhatsApp group on the same day at 09:00 PM. Subsequently the message and pictures have been spread in the social media thereby created panic in the minds of general public.
Consequently the business of the Shah Ghouse Hotel badly affected and several employees of Shah Ghouse Hotel lost their livelihood as the business drastically came down.
Today, at early hours the team lead by. E. Venkat Reddy, consisting SI’s K. Srinvas, K. Vijay Vardhan and staff proceeded to the residence of the accused, apprehended him and brought to Cyber Crime Police Station, Cyberabad. The accused is being produced before the XVI MM, Kukatpally, Cyberabad.
Appeal to Public;
Do not spread the wrong/false messages in social media without verifying the genuineness. Earlier also one false message led to the communal disturbance at Narsingi Police Station limits.
The social networking site/apps are created with great efforts with good intention to share the communication time to time among the friends & family and public at large. Do not use such facility/technology for spreading false/wrong messages, consequently do not invite the legal action.
