Man Arrested for Supplying Spoiled Chicken in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The H-FAST team, along with veterinary officials and Sanathnagar Police, arrested a man for allegedly storing and supplying spoiled chicken to local vendors. Officials said the accused supplied the meat for preparing food for public consumption.
Authorities identified the accused as Suraj Pal (66), a businessman from Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Kukatpally.
Inspection exposes unhygienic storage
Acting on credible information, the H-FAST team conducted an inspection at M/s SPR Chicken premises located near Moosapet. During the inspection, officials found spoiled frozen chicken stored in unhygienic conditions.
The inspection team also noticed several violations. The FSSAI licence had expired. Moreover, officials found that the stored chicken was not fit for human consumption. The poor sanitation at the premises further raised health concerns.
352 kg spoiled chicken seized
During the operation, authorities seized about 352 kg of spoiled frozen chicken. The stock included chicken wings, breast portions and liver. Officials immediately secured the material to prevent further distribution.
Later, the team handed over the accused and seized material to Sanathnagar Police Station for legal action. Police have started further investigation into the case.
Officials warn public about food safety
The operation was conducted by the H-FAST Inspector along with staff, Veterinary Officer Dr K. Nagarjuna and Sanathnagar Police personnel.
Meanwhile, officials advised the public to remain cautious while buying food products. They asked consumers to purchase food only from authorised and hygienic shops. They also warned people to avoid food from unknown vendors.
Authorities urged citizens to report any unhygienic food practices. Officials said public cooperation plays a key role in ensuring food safety and protecting community health.
