Man Killed By Wife Over Alleged Harassment In Vattepally

Hyderabad, July 10, 2025 (Maxim News): A domestic dispute turned deadly in Vattepally under the Mailardevpally police limits, where a 55-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his wife following repeated instances of harassment and abuse.

According to police, the deceased, Shaik Mohammed, a daily wage labourer, was reportedly addicted to alcohol and regularly returned home drunk, often engaging in heated arguments and violent altercations with his wife, Naseema Begum, and their children.

On Tuesday night, following another such quarrel, tensions escalated beyond control. In a fit of rage, Naseema Begum allegedly picked up a boulder and bludgeoned her husband to death while he was asleep or incapacitated, police said. The gruesome incident reportedly took place around midnight.

The incident came to light on Wednesday morning, when neighbors alerted the authorities after discovering the lifeless body.

Police Investigation Underway

The Mailardevpally police have registered a case of murder and detained the accused. An investigation is ongoing to determine the exact sequence of events, and forensic teams have been deployed to gather evidence from the crime scene.

A senior police official confirmed, “Initial findings point to a long history of domestic abuse. The woman claims she acted in self-defense and snapped after enduring repeated harassment.”

The body of Shaik Mohammed was shifted to a government hospital for postmortem examination.
