Hyderabad: A late night altercation between two brothers in Miyapur ended in a fatal assault on Tuesday night. The incident took place in P.A. Nagar. Police said a heated argument led to the death of a 27 year old man.

The deceased was identified as Raju, an auto rickshaw driver. His younger brother, Guruswamy, works as a school bus driver. Both brothers were unmarried and lived with their mother. According to police, the two had been quarrelling frequently over minor issues for the past fortnight. They reportedly argued after consuming alcohol on several occasions.

Heated argument in Miyapur turns fatal

On Tuesday night, another argument broke out while both were intoxicated. The quarrel soon escalated. In a fit of rage, Guruswamy allegedly picked up a stone and struck Raju forcefully on the head. As a result, Raju collapsed on the spot. He died instantly due to a severe head injury.

Meanwhile, on receiving information, the Miyapur police rushed to the scene. They examined the spot and began an investigation. Later, based on a complaint lodged by the brothers’ mother, police registered a case. Officers then took the suspect into custody for questioning.

Police said further details will emerge during the probe. However, they confirmed that the investigation is underway. The tragic incident has once again highlighted how frequent quarrels and alcohol consumption can lead to serious consequences.
